Sedalia Water and Sanitation District
Mary Kasal has been assisting the Sedalia Water and Sanitation District as District Engineer in multiple facets since 2009 to help improve the aging water distribution system. Projects include water line design projects, alluvial filtration, tank rehabilitation, grant applications, budget preparation, and overall District management tasks. The current project is an 8.3M districtwide infrastructure replacement project. Over several years Mary facilitated the completion and approval of a PER/ER through the USDA, navigated the District through a successful election process to obtain the funding, and is taking an active role in managing the project. Work includes detailed documentation required by the County, State and Federal organizations.
Confluence Park
Confluence Park has become a symbol for the revitalization of the South Platte River and Cherry Creek, and one of the primary catalysts for revitalization of the Central Platte Valley. The bridges and pedestrian /bicycle ramps were not ADA compliant, nor did they function properly with their increasing usage patterns. Working with the City of Denver, Wenk, Urban Drainage and others, the ramps were redesigned in conjunction with the creation of a new master plan for the area. K2 staff was responsible for all out-of-channel civil engineering design for this project.
